With each private friends & family event we hold here at Willowthorne, we feature different artists, artisans, mixologists, filmmakers, photographers and musicians.
At the Kristkindlmarkt (German-Style Christmas Market) we featured local puppeteers, candymakers, seamstresses, carolers and graphic artists.
For our Halloween Grindhouse event, we featured iconic Grindhouse slasher flicks, gore-fests that inspired filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino. We had so much fun drinking farm-inspired cocktails, drinking local small batch beer and eating amazing food while watching scary movies under the stars on comfy hay bales!
We will hope to make "movies under the stars" a regular feature during the summer and autumn months.
At our very first farm dinner in August 2015, we were fortunate to be able to work with Dan de los Monteros, a Chicago photographer and artist, who displayed his photographs throughout the grounds. Guests were greeted with a cocktail then encouraged to mingle in the gardens and view Dan's gorgeous photos.
